Active life.

I always say I am such a city girl but I grew up in a very small town. While it’s not for me, I think kids really benefit from living a slower, outdoorsy life. It’s not always go go go. We have been exploring all that Utah has to offer us and these postpartum leggings have been amazing for all our activities! Lots of support and super comfy.

Nothing like a pair of leggings to give you the confidence you need!

I have not always been one to conform. I do not like to buy something just because it is “in style”. Now if it is on sale and super cheap, I will probably buy it just because I can not pass up a sale. I have always been the girl that looks through the men’s section to see what I can make work for me. This dress may be the best purchase I have ever made in the men’s section. I am so obsessed with this dress, that is really a men’s tank. Ah, I know I know, it’s amazing and on sale! I made my husband buy himself a tank too, but really I just wanted a second dress and to not feel guilty for him not getting something lol.

I am all about comfort and just wearing whatever suits my mood that day lately. We spend so much time outside in the summer, dresses are my go to. I was not made for 100+ degree weather. Minnesota was snow 90% of the year and I was okay with that. You think after 7 years, I would be adjusted. I even went as far as thinking about cutting my hair. I had a moment of weakness. Fall!! Hurry up and get here (:

I absolutely loved working with Rachel. It was one of the most fun shoots I have ever had. It was very laid back and we vibed very well together. Rachel is an amazing photographer. She caught all the really fun moments and has an amazing eye. I can not wait to shoot with her again.

For this shoot I wanted to take one shirt and style it two different ways. The shirt is a crop from Pacsun and one of the softest, most comfortable shirts I own. The first look is a more girly feel. I paired it with a maxi skirt that I made and a jean jacket. It is the perfect outfit for any girls day out or date night.

Baby boot socks.

Nothing makes me swoon more than little accessories. Everything is just cuter in miniature size. I have become obsessed with boot socks this fall. They are so adorable and add a little touch to any outfit. So when I saw baby boot socks, you bet i had to have them. Perfect for the fall days when they weather is getting chilly, all the way into winter with some cute Uggs or duck boots. We are still in the in-between seasons here. Somedays it is warms and your dying because your heat was on and other days your have 3 layers on. Today I am going to share with you some cute outfit inspirations for you baby sock boots, worn by Bentleigh and Hurleigh!

They can be paired with so many different styles of shoes. Today with went with Uggs and Moccasins, but we will definitely be mixing it up here soon!

Slouch Headwear

A staple piece in our fall/winter wardrobe is definitely beanies! I love the look of slouchy beanies on the boys. They go with so many outfits and with fall and the cool weather upon us, comfy outfits are a must. Throw on some sweats and a pullover with a slouchy beanie and you are set to go. Bentleigh is at the stage where he is very, very opinionated on everything, including his hair. He has decided he wants to grow his hair out to be big like Hurleigh’s but not as long. So, here we are. We are at a totally awkward stage right now for his hair and it is so thick and just not made to be long, but what Bentleigh wants, Bentleigh will get. It is nice to have a beanie to just throw on when he refuses to let me do his hair. And of course we all know that Hurleigh’s hair is just wild and unruly all the time. Seeing his little curls pop out of the sides of a beanie is one of the best things ever.

I love small companies. Even more, I love small companies from Utah. When I came across Slouch Headwear I knew they were a company for me. Carl and Emily, the founders of Slouch Headwear, started the company after searching for stylish and affordable beanies for their son. When they could not find exactly what they were looking for, they decided the best route would be to make them. From that was born Slouch Headwear. Every fabric is hand picked by them and made right here is Utah, to ensure the highest quality possible. They are super comfortable, which makes them perfect for every season of the year.

They are amazingly well made. I love the fit and they have the perfect amount of “slouch” to them. They are such a sweet, loving company, and you will be welcomed with open arms. Check out all their amazing prints over on their Instagram and Twitter, @slouchheadwear, and make sure to follow them to stay up to date on any sale, promotions, and new products they may be offering!

My two favorites are the “Pea Green” and “Leopard” slouch beanies. They are always releasing new colors and their prices are perfect for every mama out there! Hurry and check out Slouch Headwear now and snag your little some of the most stylish beanies available!

Rags to Raches

The end of summer came and we are slowly moving into fall. This is my absolute favorite time of the year. I love the layers and every fall essential that comes with dressing the boys. This amazing romper from Rags to Raches is perfect for fall layering. It is so soft and breathable. Very roomy and comfortable for all those little wild children that love to run around. Hurleigh has been obsessed with these Hunter boots since the moment he got them. He would wear them every day if I let him, cue buying my colors for fall. And everything flannel, well I’m from Minnesota and flannel has its own spot on the color wheel up there lol. It can still be pretty warm here during the day, but mornings and nights are pretty cool. Tie a sweater or button up around your little ones waist to have it on hand whenever they get a little chilly. Make sure to check out Rags to Raches for more amazing items too, they have some of the best rompers coming out that I have been waiting for very impatiently lol.

That chocolate milk face gets me every time! Say hello to grumpy cat! (:

Playground Fun

We got lucky and have a playground right in our community, but it is fun to take the boys out and explore new playgrounds. It has been crazy hot out, talking 90+ every day so our trips have been very short. We have also discovered that Hurleigh HATES, and when I say hate I mean scream bloody murder, tears whole shebang hate, the pool or splash pad. That’s making for an exceptionally hot summer. We managed to get him at least in the tiny kiddie pool at home, so that is a start. We got a cooler day so we took full advantage of it. We have been going to movie in the park on Monday nights and right next to the amphitheater is a pretty great playground that Beni has been begging to play at. We had a shoot in downtown Ogden so we took the boys over for some much needed play time.

Matching outfits can only mean one thing… photo shoot! Those pictures will be up later along with a HUGE surprise. They had so much fun. They are the best little partners in crime. Beni always makes sure Hurleigh is okay and helps him up to the slide and down. I can share with you one sneak peek from another shoot with the amazing Toni J Studios. Stay tuned for the whole shoot soon featuring this amazing tank from The Printed Palatte.
