Active life.

I always say I am such a city girl but I grew up in a very small town. While it’s not for me, I think kids really benefit from living a slower, outdoorsy life. It’s not always go go go. We have been exploring all that Utah has to offer us and these postpartum leggings have been amazing for all our activities! Lots of support and super comfy.

Nothing like a pair of leggings to give you the confidence you need!

I have not always been one to conform. I do not like to buy something just because it is “in style”. Now if it is on sale and super cheap, I will probably buy it just because I can not pass up a sale. I have always been the girl that looks through the men’s section to see what I can make work for me. This dress may be the best purchase I have ever made in the men’s section. I am so obsessed with this dress, that is really a men’s tank. Ah, I know I know, it’s amazing and on sale! I made my husband buy himself a tank too, but really I just wanted a second dress and to not feel guilty for him not getting something lol.

I am all about comfort and just wearing whatever suits my mood that day lately. We spend so much time outside in the summer, dresses are my go to. I was not made for 100+ degree weather. Minnesota was snow 90% of the year and I was okay with that. You think after 7 years, I would be adjusted. I even went as far as thinking about cutting my hair. I had a moment of weakness. Fall!! Hurry up and get here (:

I absolutely loved working with Rachel. It was one of the most fun shoots I have ever had. It was very laid back and we vibed very well together. Rachel is an amazing photographer. She caught all the really fun moments and has an amazing eye. I can not wait to shoot with her again.

For this shoot I wanted to take one shirt and style it two different ways. The shirt is a crop from Pacsun and one of the softest, most comfortable shirts I own. The first look is a more girly feel. I paired it with a maxi skirt that I made and a jean jacket. It is the perfect outfit for any girls day out or date night.

Runaway.

A month. That is how long it has been since I have even looked at the blog. So much happened in that month. Christmas. New years. Modeling gigs. Hurt foot. Family issues. The list goes on and on. SOOO, why did I just up and abandon it? Because it got to the point where it was expected of me to post. Yes I know, the point of a blog is for me to post, but when people are saying to me “you need to post more of the boys outfits” or post this or post that, that’s not me. It wasn’t for me anymore it was for everyone else. I don’t do commitment well. Before y’all chime in that I do commitment everyday of my life being married and being a mom… yes I am fully committed with all my heart. I am in a loving marriage and a stay at home mom to two amazing boys, yes it scares the shit out of me all the time. I do not know what the future will bring us and yes that is scary. Besides my brother and sister, surprise yes I have half siblings, there really has not been any stable committed relationships in my life. I panic everyday thinking that I could potentially fail my family, because that is all I knew growing up, but I know that it is all worth it. So, when the blog became something I had to do I ran. No thank you, I am out, see ya! Basically run the other way as fast as I can and not look back. But, I miss it. I won’t lie. Not necessarily the outfits and all that good stuff, but being able to share the real me with y’all. For you to see that there is more than just these cute little kids in cute little outfits running around. A real mom living a real life everyday. The ups, the downs, the good , the bad, and the ugly.

DSC_1912

I am not going to say I am back 110%. I am not going to give you this huge long “I am going to post everyday and give you guys everything” rant. Cause that for sure is not me. It just take the little things in life to realize that sometimes you need an outlet. This is my outlet. If you love it, I love you, if you don’t that’s okay too. Some people are going to come here for the clothes, some people just for the real-ness, and some people just cause I bribed them to come and read my dumb posts haha. But I will share with you everything I love when I feel like it is something you will care about.

DSC_2221

Where in the heck did all this come from you ask? No, probably not, but I am going to tell you anyways haha. Lately my very loving sons and brothers have not been so loving. They have their moments of pure just… I don’t even know, rage maybe, sometimes I honestly think they just hate each other. Nothing like I have ever seen before where Hurleigh will just go to town on Bentleigh, because Bentleigh is the sneaky one and does things to make him mad, but in a very quiet way. I know that they do not hate each other, far from it, they have a love I could have never imagined for them. So as I was putting them to bed in their beds tonight, that of course have to be touching Bentleigh said, and Hurleigh does end up half in Bentleigh’s bed so fine, I had this moment of fear. Fear that my commitment to them is failing, that some place I have gone wrong and something I am doing is not right. BUT I know siblings fight and I know people who are together 24/7, 365 days a year are not going to see eye to eye every second of everyday and that applies to them as well. So here we are. Basically venting on my blog and if you are still reading high-five. And thank you (:

Christmas Crafts.

I love doing crafts with my boys. Normally during the winter that is all we do since we are stuck in the house because of the snow, dreading it even more this year with Hurleigh absolutely hating the snow, but we have ZERO snow! So, we have been playing outside as much as possible, enjoying this exceptionally nice weather. I totally makes me want to move to a place where it doesn’t snow. Did I just say that lol. I do love snow, I mean I’m from Minnesota where it would snow 3 feet and you had to shovel your car out and get to school asap. I am just enjoying this winter so much.

We decided today to break out the art supplies and make some snowflakes for their play area. I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it would be so fun to do with both of them. Hurleigh has other ideas. As you can tell, he did not want to partake in the painting whatsoever. So, it became a Bentleigh and Mommy craft. All you need are popsicle sticks, paint, and a hot glue gun. You can make any pattern your heart desires. I glued them all together and let Bentleigh get started on his master piece. I love the way they turned out. Each unique and a one of a kind snowflake just for our family.

I had to cut him off from the black paint after a while. He did tell me black was his favorite color, even though I know it is not and he just said it because I told him it was mine, still melted my heart lol. He would have painted the whole thing black if I let him. Hurleigh just did his own thing, knocking down the teepee in the background at one point. I guess I can add painting to the list of things this child does not like. Overall, a successful and easy craft for everyone to enjoy.

The LB Brand, Little Boogaweezin, has always been one of the most inspiring brands I have come across. They are all about freethinking and living the modern motherhood life. Their items not only empower me to be the awesome mother I want to be, they allow me to stay super stylish while being comfortable. Plus, they have the perfect color scheme; black, white, and grey. Hello heaven on earth.

DSC_0118DSC_0124

Their children line allows your littles to be stylish without sacrificing their comfort. Their tees are buttery soft. Like you could live in them, for the rest of your life, and never need another shirt… except maybe two duplicate shirts so you can wash them occasionally lol. I love that they celebrate childhood. They have the best messages of the future to come and being the best that you can. Things I want to teach my boys everyday, to be the greatest version of themselves and live an amazing life.

Fawn Design

DSC_0024 I am so happy to be able to share with you this amazing company. I first came across Fawn Design at Craft Lake City, if you are not from Utah it is an amazing festival full of all the most talented people you can find in the surrounding Salt Lake area. I swooned over them and completely fell in love. Fast forward a few months and Jenny and I start talking. Let me tell you, she is the sweetest girl. She puts so much love and heart into every bag. DSC_0037   When My bag came in the mail, it was even better than I remembered. It is the perfect everything bag. As a mom of two, I though “Oh, well I only have diapers for one so I do not need a diaper bag anymore”. No one warned me that the amount I would be taking would stay the same. I’ve traded in extra outfits and diaper ointment for action figures and un-necessary movie, just in case we go somewhere and they need to watch it. Two boys with two very different personalities also means two different types of snacks and juice, diapers for one still, and everything that I want in my purse. That is a lot. My little, cute purses that I was so happy to use again, just were not cutting it. DSC_0040 The Doe bag can be used as a backpack and a Messenger bag for easy carrying in any situation. It is made from high quality Faux Leather and an inside that completely pulls out, which makes it super easy to clean if you have any little spills or accidents that we all know happen too often. It is super stylish and modern, with a sleek look that compliments any outfit and style. And I have not even got to the size. Nine, yes NINE, pockets for easy storage for everything you need! Four exterior pockets to stash bottles, keys, cell phone,  anything you need easy access too and five internal pockets to hold every snack, diaper, sunglasses, mail, or anything that you throw in your bag. The amount of space in this bag is seriously out of this world. I can’t even find enough stuff I need to take that even fills it halfway. DSC_0046 Gorgeous right. And she made this, her pattern, sewing each piece together herself, with her own two hands. If you have had the pleasure of seeing this bag, you would not believe me. The craftsmanship is straight out of a high-end store. My husband saw it and instantly assumed I bought it from a large store and when I told him it was all handmade he was in disbelief. DSC_0020 But Jenny needs help. The demand for her bags is just too much for her to keep up with. She has started a Kickstarter, that is running from today, December 1st to December 15th, and you have the opportunity to pre-purchase your own bag in Black and Brown at the discounted price. If she meets her goal, all the bags will go into productions and she will begin to have her bags manufactured, which will allow her to design new product innovations. Head over now to watch the amazing video and read all about her story now here. I promise you, this will be the last bag you ever need. Now go show Jenny some support and let’s make Fawn Design the new go to bag of 2015! DSC_0041
