Beach days.

We had such an amazing Labor Day. We just hung out on the beach all day while the kids played and sweet Ellie even took a nap. Our smart edge outdoor blanket and toddler lounge from Lulyboo definitely made our day easier.

All my little water babies snuggled up eating snacks together was just what we needed.

Of course the easy clean up and storage options make my mama heart happy. The blanket rolls right up with a carrying handle and the lounge buckles into a backpack! Score! I’d say it was a successful day. Check out Lulyboo on IG HERE.

Creole Art Photography – Mommy and Me

Since I can remember the only thing I have ever wanted to be when I grew up was a Model. My mother will tell me stories of these big dreams I had and that she never knew where this idea came from, but my answer was always the same. I was going to move to NY and be a big time model for big time companies and that was it. While the dream may have changed a little, modeling is still something I love to do and will continue to do until I just do not enjoy it. I do not care how many people tell me I am too short and not fit enough or just not cut out for it, I will do it.

It is even better when I get to do a shoot with my sweet boys. I have worked with Sandrine from Creole Art Photography on a few projects before and I have fallen absolutely in love with her work. She is so amazing at what she does and I know she will go far.

Creole Art Photography is based in Layton, UT. She has this amazing all white studio that you can’t help but fall deeply in love with. I am crazy and if I could live in an all white everything house, I would be in absolute heaven. She has an amazing eye and captured so many amazing photos of the boys and I that I will cherish forever. She is so kind and sweet that it was easy for them to be comfortable, which allowed them to fully be themselves and play around.

Ryan Houston Photography

I met Ryan Houston, of Ryan Houston Photography, on Facebook. Social media people, I am telling you. You can make so many amazing connections. Just be careful because there are those that try and abuse it.

He was, I would like to say, my door to the world of modeling and photography in Utah, because without his approval into “Models of Utah”, I would not have met him or any of the other amazing people I have met so far lol. So, thank you Ryan. He is truly a very kind, very talented photographer. We had talked about shooting long ago, but location has always been our down fall and his addiction to metal detecting. (:

When he ended up in my neck of the woods and wanted to shoot, I knew we had to. I wanted to do something fun and free. So, with free reign to do whatever I wanted, we ended up with this boho/hippie love that I like to call magic.

Ryan Houston Photography ladies and gentlemen, made me look like I was in the angelic lighting ever known to mankind. We tromped through the mud, and I was doing high steps through super tall grass, and ever second was worth it.

And since I wanted to share ALL of the photos with you, and of course posting every one of them to my Instagram is probably not what my followers want to see, they will go here! Chatbooks.

I am mildly obsessed with taking photos. I love capturing moments that we will be able to look back on for years and years to come. Not only is it a great way to share memories with families, but also for when your children get older and they can look back at the moments you shared with them. Most, and really most mean probably all, of my photos end up on Instagram. Over a year of memories taken and no way to have them forever. Far to often, we are seeing innocent accounts of mothers being taken down by Instagram because someone is offended by nursing pictures or just their account in general. Once their account is taken down they have to beg and plead just to get their accounts back or have all those memories lost forever. The thought of losing every picture and caption and not being able to ever see them again, frankly is scary. So what is a mom to do?

Chatbooks to the rescue! For just $6 you can create a 60 color page book of your memories from Instagram! As you can see, they come in volumes. I started with 4 books, I think I had 22 volumes that could be printed! The quality is pretty great and the boys love looking over all the pictures. You can exclude photos you do not want in your book and even custom cover photos. These books are something we will be able to look back at and remember what we did on a specific day, to see all the fun we had, and reminisce over every precious memory that is not a guarantee for tomorrow. It is as simple as downloading the app in the app store, for free, and following the instructions. I also love supporting businesses in Utah! I can not wait to add more volumes to our collection. Playground Fun

We got lucky and have a playground right in our community, but it is fun to take the boys out and explore new playgrounds. It has been crazy hot out, talking 90+ every day so our trips have been very short. We have also discovered that Hurleigh HATES, and when I say hate I mean scream bloody murder, tears whole shebang hate, the pool or splash pad. That’s making for an exceptionally hot summer. We managed to get him at least in the tiny kiddie pool at home, so that is a start. We got a cooler day so we took full advantage of it. We have been going to movie in the park on Monday nights and right next to the amphitheater is a pretty great playground that Beni has been begging to play at. We had a shoot in downtown Ogden so we took the boys over for some much needed play time.

Matching outfits can only mean one thing… photo shoot! Those pictures will be up later along with a HUGE surprise. They had so much fun. They are the best little partners in crime. Beni always makes sure Hurleigh is okay and helps him up to the slide and down. I can share with you one sneak peek from another shoot with the amazing Toni J Studios. Hurleigh turns 2!

I officially have a two year old. Yesterday, July 10th, we celebrated Hurleigh’s amazing two years of life with a few close family and friends. I have to say, these last two years have been so amazing to watch him grow and mold our family into what it is today.

Back two years ago when I was about to have him, still so terrified to be having another boy, I could not have imagined the relationship him and Bentleigh would form and the love we would all share. He brings the perfect balance to our family. He is the sour to our sweet. I always say he is our little piece of chaos, because he is so fearless and always jumps head first into anything he is doing, sometimes literally. Now he is such an amazing little boy we could not have asked for anyone better to add to our family. He is such a strong spirit. He knows what he likes and especially what he dislikes, and while he does not talk much he lets you know. He loves animals of all shapes and sizes and I know he is going to do great things in his life. And yes the numbers do not lie, he is that tiny lol.

He decided to ring in his birthday in true Hurleigh fashion. You never know what he is going to give you day to day. Yesterday was not his favorite day that is for sure. It was his birthday and he cried if he wanted to lol. He finally enjoyed his day at dinner when he got to spend some time with a few of his favorite people. Then we spent the rest of the night playing with new toys. When he crawled into my bed this morning and he was doing his little stretches, still the cutest thing ever, I realized how lucky of a mom I am. I truly hit the jackpot. He has taught me that I can not expect rainbows and sunshine every day, but every moment is a gift. That even the littlest ones can have bad days too. I can not imagine any other life for us, the bad days and all. I always said that I only wanted two children, but Hurleigh turned that into a reality. We can not wait to see what the years hold for you little boy!

Happy 4th of July!

I just wanted to wish each and every reader a happy and safe 4th of July! It is a time to remember the birth of our beautiful country and all that it is! I hope that you and your families have fun no matter what your plans are! We had a great time at the parade this morning with some amazing friends and are shortly about to venture into our first camping adventure as a family. Wish me luck (; lol
