Guilty Pleasure

Since Jerika already took shopping for Baylor LOL, I had to sit and think about what mine was. Shopping for my boys is definitely high on the list. I get like a natural high no joke! But since that is already taken here is my quilts pleasure.

I love love love chai teas. Love is is an understatement. Last fall I don’t think I drank anything else. I always keep stock of some sort of chai mix in my house. Quilts as charged. If you live in Ogden go to 25th street to the coffee shop. They have the best dirty chai. Mmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it. So addicting.
Now I could have said sleep, time by myself, going to the bathroom without someone watching you, or showering for more than 5 mins. But let’s be real. I’m a mom. That’s not going to happen lol and I’m sure we all want that just as much as I do. I mean it’s Monday, shaeson has the day off, and both the kids still woke up at 730. So off to get a chai I go ha ha.
Stay tuned for today’s featured shop of the day!!

This is me.

This month the sweet Jerika from Everydaybay came up with a challenge to blog every day for the month of September. And I thought how fun would it be! While your still going to get your daily fashion, advice, and mommy post I will be posting these challenges in the morning! Go check out her blog if you want to follow along!

Well first off my name is Elexis Lyn Bronson. I was the youngest on my mom’s side, I have an older half-brother and sister, and the only on my dad’s side. My dad is originally from Trinidad and mom is german. They divorced when I was 3 so i don’t remember any of my parents being together. After that we moved to good ole Minnesota. I basically grew up there besides two years when I lived with my dad. I would spend every summer in Utah, the joys of shared custody. I really don’t remember much from my childhood. I tell myself I blocked it out cause I don’t want to remember.

I was a typical teenager. I cheered for hockey one year but it was way to cold and then I was a football/basketball cheerleader till I was a senior. That and my boyfriend consumed my life! But I knew I wanted more. I pushed myself, graduated early with 12 college credits, and moved out to Utah as fast as I could. If you know anything about Minnesota its a lot of small towns, bars, lakes, and hunting. None of which appealed to me in the least! The plan was to move to Utah and then go to college for Fashion design and move to Cali or NY. Well here I am still in Utah! LOL

I met my husband through friends. We don’t have a sweet love at first sight story. Far from it. I honestly hated him when I first met him. He was rude, thought he was gods gift to women, and smoked. Not going to happen. But I would not take crap from him and he really didn’t know what to do after that. Once he got past the trying to impress me and be a jerk part we started to hang out and really clicked. We both wanted the same things in life.

After we started dating things moved really fast. We both look back and say people must have thought we were crazy. But it felt much longer than it actually was. We decided we were going to get married after only 3-4 months! and then a few months after that we decided we wanted to have a baby! As much as people like to think Bentleigh was an oops baby that is far from the truth! He was very much planned.

After a very rocky pregnancy we had our sweet Bentleigh Aaden May 15th 2010! We both were completely speechless and it was amazing! Shaes went back to work immediately so it was an adjustment. After that we both just enjoyed being parents cause the hardest year of our lives was about to come!

We decided it was as good a time as ever to get married! August 15th I became Mrs. Shaeson R Bronson. We had a very small intimate wedding.

The hardest year of my life by far. Newly wed and our first baby. But we made it through! Bentleigh and I will always have a special bond from that year we spent as just the two of us. Not too long after, we began the journey of baby #2!

After another rocky pregnancy, I just have no luck making babies lol, Hurleigh Lyndon was born July 10th, 2012. I really was scared once I found out I was having another boy. Bentleigh and I had such a great bond that I didn’t think I could love another little boy as much as I loved him. Boy was I wrong. His labor was so amazing. Literally like a push and a half. And they laid him on my chest and that was it. I fell in love all over again, for the third time! He was so tiny and complete opposite of Beni.

Having two little boys is so much fun! They can be best friends and occasionally enemies, but Hurleigh already looks up to Beni so much and if anyone else tries to mess with Hurleigh, Beni is right there to stop them. I always say I couldn’t have given them a better gift. They’ll always have a friend the rest of their lives in their brother.

Right now in life I am completely happy. We are the best we have ever been as a family, I started school to major in fashion merchandising, and I have this amazing blog I started that is taking off. I love the life I was given and am thankful everyday for my amazing husband and boys. And that’s me in a nut shell. If you want to know more please ask! I am an open book (:

The joys of being a DIY mom!

I have wanted a teepee since Bentleigh was little. We were going to make it for him for his 2nd birthday. Then as a big brother gift for when Hurleigh was born, Christmas…you get the trend. The teepee never happened LOL. Well I happened to bring it up again, really I just wanted to buy one because even though I have a sewing machine I didn’t want to do it. Call me lazy. Now that I’ve made it….I have a new-found respect for teepee makers! It was hard! maybe it was the fabric I picked, maybe I’m being dramatic haha but either way it was a pain in my rear. But I did it! I made a teepee! YAY me! Never again LOL. If this one breaks you better believe I will be on the hunt for someone to make me a fabulous one! But the kids love it which is what I wanted in making it. It’s not perfect by any means. There are strings, that my husband went around and cut for me, the dowels we bought were way to big, the fabric doesn’t match like I wanted, but I made it with my bare hands. I wanted to cry a few times LOL and I literally broke out in a sweat, big oversized dowels and too small of dowel holes made for a great arm workout. So here is what you have all been waiting for!

I started by buying a pattern from Lovelimekids on etsy. The pattern was very easy to understand even though the ladies at the cut counter were not happy to have to do everything in cm. Sorry!

I really thought when I bought this fabric it would match my house. I was wrong and now I am regretting letting my husband have a say! But its cute and I wanted him to help. Learned my lesson. I picked a suede sort of fabric for the sides. I thought it would make it look more authentic. The bottom mat was supposed to be fabric, matting, fabric. Well I found that great quilted fabric that had already done it for me. The brown I picked as trim for the bottom mat. My husband said it didn’t match but clearly he knows nothing about picking out fabrics.

Don’t get me wrong the fabric is amazing. I think I just have visions of leopard print in my head. That fabric was fantastic!

And thank gosh for disappearing ink. I seriously had the worst time trying to get straight lines on this thing. Only to cut it and realize I had measured wrong! Thankfully I measured long and not short! I wanted so badly to get it done that night. I may have neglected dinner and cleaning. But my dear sweet husband made me dinner, tacos, and gave the kids a bath. Definitely made up for his fabric choice LOL.

I set it up while the kids were sleeping so I could surprise them. And look at how happy Beni was! Only problem…it’s his teepee and Hurleigh isn’t allowed in there. We may need to work on this sharing with your brother thing a little more HAHA.

Like I said before it’s not perfect but the kids played in it the whole morning! Bentleigh wanted to eat breakfast and lunch in it! He dragged all his stuffies in there. Now we just need some fab pillows and blankets for it and we’ll be set!

Blogging on the go!

Today we ventured to my favorite store, Target!

We didn’t come for anything special other than to check out theirs fall selection for clothes! And let me tell you, I am loving everything! Ill post a few must haves for you (:

90% of our time is spent in the toy section. And now they both run in different directions. It’s a mess lol.

But on to the clothes! I am literally in love with the target fall collection! They have a new love art collection too! If my husband wasn’t there lol. I’m a sucker for vintage superhero looks.

And what little boy doesn’t love batman and superman! And I know there are little girls out there that would love it too! I didn’t get the whole collection but I convinced him we needed two of them! Job well done!
Another must have for fall! Sweaters! Cardigans, pull overs, hoodies, any type I absolutely love! Target has some great ones right now and so reasonably priced!

Two of my favorites I found! I clearly need to come back without my husband. You know men!
And I found this set for the littles! OMG can I have another little baby right now please. I about cried when they didn’t have hurleighs size! Totally sad about it!

There were so many great things but the kids started to fight and hurleigh was not having it anymore!

Until tomorrow

This is it.

I do many things. Stay at home mom, wife, teacher, nurse, student, part-time designer, and full-time lover of fashion. From the time I was little I knew I would be a big time designer. Well I am not a big time designer. Rather a small time designer, working out of my craft room, making children’s clothes. And I couldn’t have asked for a better life. I never wanted children, sad to say I know. But once I had them…well you moms know. Your world gets flipped upside down and it was AMAZING!

AM Photography

Two boys. Boy oh Boy. They are wild, crazy, and challenging. And the most challenging part is not the crying or the fits. It was dressing them. It’s obvious that stores do not cater to little boys. It was hard. With Bentleigh I will admit 90% of his clothes came from Carters because that is all I knew. The other 10% were Hurley. And really that was it. I was handed the challenge and failed miserably.

AM Photography

When Hurleigh was born I knew it had to change. And thanks to my p.i.c Lexi it did. And fast. From then on I was introduced to amazing brands. Freshly Picked, 32&Elm, LovedbyHannahandEli, Mima, Passive Juice Motel…. The list goes on and on. And from then on out our fashion days got a lot better! And you know what. I did it all on a budget.

AM Photography

I always get asked where I get my boys clothes from so from that came this! A blog just for you. A blog to help you find deals and style your kids for less. Cause lets face it, we all love a good deal! Every day I will post outfits of the day granted we go out, style advice, any deals I find, and of course I will not forget about the girls of all ages!

So read around, post suggestions, check out our IG, stay and make yourself at home. Cause I may have just found my passion and we’ll be here for as long as you let us!
