The pain of the darkness.

This wasn’t the post I wanted to come back with. I have not posted in a while and was planning on coming back after the holidays with the announcement of adding another baby to our family. We found out I was pregnant and we were so excited to give Bentleigh and Hurleigh a new baby brother or sister. Sadly that is not the case.

The thought of a miscarriage never came to my mind. I had two healthy pregnancies and aside from early labor and severe morning sickness everything went just as planned. I knew miscarriages happened, but I never thought in a million years it would happen to me.

You see it everyday. Your heartbreaks for those that have to go through it, but you never fully understand the magnitude of the situation. I never realized how horrible and empty you feel. Everything makes you think of the baby you will never carry in your arms. You suddenly notice all the beautiful pregnant bellies walking around that you would have never noticed before. Every show with a newborn or a woman having a baby is hard to watch. The positive pregnancy test you got is now just a remind of your pain.

I hate that this has to happen to anyone. I hate that Bentleigh doesn’t understand why we can’t go see the baby. That you don’t know how to tell those that knew you were pregnant that your not anymore. That I had to tell my husband on thanksgiving that the new baby he was thankful for will not be coming.

So I come here. To my happy place. I don’t want you to feel sorry for me. My body and my heart hurts, but it believe everything happens for a reason. I will grow from this and while the pain will never fully leave my heart, we will move on and remember to cherish every moment we can with each other as a family. I am blessed with two healthy boys and I cant be thankful enough for them.

I am sorry if I will be gone for a while. I just need to take some time to deal and clear my head. I promise I will be back. Love you all!

Mom hair.

I was doing my hair the other day and realized I have three hairstyles, curled, sock bun, and messy pony. Not very exciting. I remember the days when I would do something different with my hair everyday. Is it a sign that you’re getting older when you have one hairstyle that you rock almost everyday? I lived the first few months of Hurleigh’s life in a messy bun. Not very exciting and not cute. I feel 10x better when I do my hair as opposed to just throwing it up. So I decided to take to Pinterest, because that’s where all good ideas come from right? LOL And compiled a list of 5 easy hairstyles that you can do super quick. I know how it is trying to get ready with two little ones standing at the back of me, “mommy what’s this?” as he is trying to pull the curling iron off the counter. Some how gets a hold of the make-up brushes which leads to a half bronze face. I’ve been there and I understand. The quicker the hairstyle the better.

This is my go to style. I do this almost everyday.

I use almost this exact one for my buns only I got mine from H&M.

Super easy. Wave your hair and slide a stretchy headband over your head. Grab small piece and twist them around the band until you reach the back.

Now that fall is upon us we can rock our beanies. Whether you curl your hair, leave it straight, and braid it off to the side a beanie is a great way to hide a bad hair day! (:

All pretty simple and not time-consuming. These are the five you will find me with the most. I need to broaden my horizon on hair styles. If you have a favorite share!

Tiny whales

When I think of brands to share with you, you can be sure that they are brands that I truly love. I am pretty picky about what I put on the boys and I don’t think it’s fair to share something I would not put them in. This brand is at the tippy top of my favorites list. Tiny Whales is so fun and hip. Everything they come out with Bentleigh and Hurleigh need in their closet. You won’t be disappointed. They are trend setting and offer products that you won’t see in every other brand. Plus side, they have stuff for is mommies and daddies too!

I first came across Tiny Whales on IG. They are a family affair that started back in 2008. Since then they have grown into a well known brand and can be seen in boutiques online including my favorite Chicky Pop and in stores locations. Looking for one near you? Check out their site and see all the stores that carry them!

If your in the Los Angeles area head to their IG and check out the dates and locations for shopping events. This holiday season they are busy, busy with many events you will be able to stop by and check out their products in person and meet the wonderful creators of Tiny Whales.

I swear they come out with new items every few weeks it feels like. Not good for my pocket book, but the variety they have is amazing because you are bound to find something that you like. Most of their items are gender neutral which I love. I’m very much into not conforming to gender boundaries. If my son wants to wear an shirt with a cute kitten on it then so be it. *Cough, Cough* they have the CUTEST astronaut cat shirt. Pushing boundaries and never stopping, I love a brand that can be true to themselves and not afraid to put out wild and crazy items.

As you can tell we LOVE Tiny Whales. Brittany and Shaun are the best duo and the fact that they are a husband and wife duo is the Kudos to them because there is no way my husband and I could work that closely together LOL, but you can tell they truly love what they do. As long as they continue to put out amazing products I will be a loyal customer! Love you guys!!

November is here!

We had such a great October and they both had so much fun on Halloween, but I am so happy that it is November. I think it finally kicks in for me that it is really fall. The boys have been having a blast playing outside and enjoying the cooler weather. We have switched over to some great fall scents in our home and all the amazing holiday food starts to make its way into the stores. It is definitely my favorite time of the year.

I have also been missing for a few days. As some of you may know I am enrolled in school. I have been wanting to go back for a while, but I just never took the jump to do it. It is a lot tougher than I thought.  I am so behind it’s not even funny, but I will not fail. I have never failed a class in my life and I will not start off my college career failing. So if I miss a few days don’t worry. This blog is my happy place and it will not be going anywhere anytime soon. There are some great things to come soon!

Oh and Hurleigh has recently moved into a big boy bed. HUGE milestone. ): The first night I laid in my bed hoping that he would wake up. It’s a proud and sad moment. My bed hasn’t been that empty for 3.5 years! YAY for Hurleigh. (:

I will leave you on a good note of the boys enjoying the first day of November and Hurleigh trying out his big boy bed!

Happy Halloween!

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Halloween. I hope you all had a safe and fun night with your families! Here are a few pictures of my little Lion and his tamer from today. (:

Hurleigh slept most the time after we left the house and he’s not old enough to be into trick or treating although he did go up to a few houses. This year Beni was so into it and he went with his cousins so it was twice the fun. He ran around yelling “MOM lights means candy! Hurry Up!” LOL It was a blast. Both of their costume I made myself. Already thinking of costumes next year! Hope you guys had as much fun as us! Good night everyone! (:
